Direct Funding Services for Adults with Autism

There is a growing crisis in Ontario for families raising individuals with Autism. Once children reach the age of 18 years, many of the supports that they have in place are removed. I implore the provincial government to implement a direct funding policy for families of adults with autism who are continuing to support them in their homes. Individuals with disabilities and the families that support them

Raise the family income maximums for disability support programs (ODSP, SSAH, ACSD, ADP) yearly and keep it in line with inflation and the increases given to MPPs/civil servants. Families should not be threated with support cut-offs because they have to pick up 2nd and 3rd jobs to help pay for the costs of disabled family members and maintain a roof over ones head.
