Minimum warranty periods (read before you vote).

The minimum warranty period would depend of the particular product. e.g. say at least 10 years for most appliances, and maybe 5 years for most electronics.

 

This would promote the manufacture and sale of products that are made to last and protect consumers from poorly made/flawed products.

 

This would reduce waste, save energy, and be cheaper for the consumer in the long run.

Promote Robotics Manufacturing In Ontario

Ontario should commit substantial resources to the promotion of robotics manufacturing in Ontario before the market takes flight and leaves us behind. Tie the program to Ontario Universities just as RIM was linked to the University of Waterloo.

Manufacturing is the engine that drives the Ontario economy, contributes to the GDP, creates sustainable long term jobs and drives corporate tax growth. Our manufacturing industry is primarily export driven. Incentive for manufacturing

The Province of Ontario could provide incentive to new manufacturing businesses starting in Ontario, by allowing a tax free year every 5 year, for a period of 20 years.

These manufacturing companies must be new (not subsidiaries), owned by Canadians and creating jobs.

The oil boom in Alberta will continue to harm Ontario manufacturing for the next 100 years or more.
