The best you can say for churches, temples or synagogues is that they are forms of entertainment, clubs for mutual support or places for the spread of ideology or propaganda. They do have property and they do suck up resources. Why should they not be taxed like cinema's, hockey arenas, theatres, concert halls, and restaurants? Why should all citizens subsidize them even if they don't use them or agree with their ideologies? ...more »
My idea for Choice in Dying was #2 i all ideas yesterday and #1 in HEALTH. Where did it go? arrange to free CommonGround from powerful interest groups who can shut down ideas these interests don't like. What happened to my idea which yesterday had support from 159 voters. Now it is gone??

Eradicate poverty by Minimum Annual Wage/
I suggest a panel of informed people be given a limited period to consult citizens about end of life choices for dying and report to Cabinet at the end of this period. I suggest 3 months and 9 locations. The panel to consist of those free from any prior conflict of interest as in doctrinal allegiance to ant-euthanasia dogma or financial conflict as in investments in nursing home and private elder care for profit.
My idea is that we create the policy that a small percentage of individual provincial taxes that we pay be permitted as a choice from a list designed by the government and provided to taxpayers once a year, i.e., health, education, roads, etc. and after this choice is exercised the balance is apportioned by government's choice as now but instead of 100% it might be 95%.
